JULY 2019

Hathaway Street and Loftus Grove
Following a meeting with Highways, Councillor Jeavons and Pobl, an agreement has been reached to address the issue of the replacement bollards which separates Hathaway Street and Loftus Grove. The proposal will involve a permeant fence and a single “A” frame entrance to the path. The proposal has been sent to Lovells and it is anticipated that they will complete these works by end of September 2019.
Gardening Competition
We really appreciate your contribution toward making Loftus garden village look beautiful and a fantastic place to live. Why not go one step further and enter our Loftus Blooming Beautiful competition. We would love to see what secret gardens are hidden away behind back garden fences. We also have a category for the kids, Crazy Container and Painted pebble. And for those who are not green fingered but still have a good eye for beauty get out your camera and enter our Loftus Through a Lens competition.
Alterations
Gardens form an integral part of the village landscape. Before any work commences on you home that would affect the external appearance of the front of your house or garden. Residents are required to submit an application form for approval of the works which can be found on “Changing your home tab” on the My Loftus website.
- Front gardens should be maintained to an acceptable standard and new shrubs should be approved. This will ensure that they are of an appropriate size and not dominate the front garden. Trees form an integral part of the village landscape and should not be removed.
- Front garden gates should be maintained to an acceptable standard painted white and must not be removed.
- Front garden hedges will be maintained by the Loftus Garden Village management company and must not be removed.
- Any mulch on borders or front gardens must be to an acceptable standard for example, plum paddle stone between 50mm and 100mm.
- Side fences or planting will be considered on a individual case basis.
If applications are received after the works have been completed, we reserve the right to charge an administration fee.
Parking on pavements
We previously highlighted a problem with a small number of residents parking inconsiderately. Pobl Living has been made aware of instances where cars have been parked inappropriately in some cases damaging planting and causing paths to become inaccessible on occasion.
Please be mindful that cars should be parked appropriately ensuring plants are not damaged and paths and driveways are easily accessible to all.
Enforcement notices
Inspection of Loftus Gardens in July 2019 has highlighted a few residents that are not complying with the responsibility of keeping their garden neat and tidy. If residents fail to comply with the terms of the transfer document then we reserve the right to undertake any works and residents will be recharged the associated costs.
Payment of Estate Charge
Payment reminder, if you have not made a monthly payment, then you will lose the option to pay your estate charge over 10 months. If you have chosen to pay in two instalments, the next installment will be due 1st September 2019.
